Yesterday evening I attended the lecture Understanding Climate Change by Dr. Kirsten Findell at the Haverford Township Community Recreation & Environmental Center. Dr. Findell gave a very powerful and informative presentation to the many who came out to hear her speak.
The historical data and predictive models clearly show that global warming will continue to rise at alarming rates if we continue doing “business as usual.” If we do not take more meaningful action now to stop it, this and future generations will suffer greatly. The recent disasters in Puerto Rico and other Caribbean nations are just a portend of worse things to come.
As your next Congressman, I will fight relentlessly to protect our environment and stop global warming. Anything less than perfect scores for my legislative performance from the League of Conservation Voters, PennEnvironment, Sierra Club, and other reputable environmental groups will be unacceptable.
Many thanks to Dr. Findell, Citizens' Climate Lobby - PA - Chester County, Haverford Township Parks and Recreation Department, Haverford Environmental Advisory Committee, Havertown Community Action Group, and others for holding this event.
Dr. Findell received her Ph.D. in Hydroclimatology from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and is currently a Research Physical Scientist within the Climate Change, Variability and Prediction Group of Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory (GFDL), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). Dr. Findell has published extensively on her research in the fields of hydroclimatology and land-atmosphere interactions.
