Solar Meet, Eat, and Share

Many passionate and dedicated people turned out to today’s Earth Quaker Action Team (EQAT) and Transition Town Media’s Solar Meet, Eat, and Share event at Providence Friends Meeting.  We heard about their Power Local Green Jobs campaign that focuses on creating well-paying, green jobs by increasing the amount of solar power generated from residential solar panels.  I share their commitment and commend their painstaking efforts to help make our nation and the world a better place for us, our children and grandchildren.

Girls in STEM Expo

Yesterday the Eastern Pennsylvania Robotics Alliance hosted the Girls in STEM Expo at the Haverford Township Free Library in celebration of International Day of the Girl (October 11th).  Joe McCullough, Elaine Elbich, Brigid Reed, Jennifer Walsh, and others gave very interesting and informative presentations. Afterwards, the girls who attended were able to drive robots built by the young people in the programs.  Please join me in showing them your support for the vital work that they do for our daughters and granddaughters.

Fall Fest 2017

The weather held out for today's Fall Fest 2017 hosted by Drexelbrook Residential Community in Drexel Hill, PA.  I spoke to several vendors and picked up a couple items in the flea market including an air-plant wall hanger, made by local artist Ashley Alden, for my wife.   I also bumped into and had a great discussion with Don Fields, candidate for Upper Darby Township Council – I’m rooting for you Don in next month’s election.

Morton / Rutledge Fire Company Fundraiser

This morning I stopped by a fundraiser benefiting the Morton / Rutledge Fire Company in Morton, PA.  Local Lularoe Retailers were on-hand selling women's and girl's clothes.  A few women tried to convince me that some of the clothes were also for men, I wasn't buying it and made a personal donation instead.  Please support this or your local volunteer fire company.
