Gerrymandering and its Effect on the Democratic Process

Gerrymandering and its Effect on the Democratic Process

Thank you to The League of Women Voters of Central Delaware County for hosting yesterday’s Gerrymandering and its Effect on the Democratic Process event at Media Borough Community Center.  Carol Kuniholm, Chair and co-founder of Fair Districts PA, spoke about Pennsylvania's notorious gerrymandering and gave updates on progress towards a constitutional amendment and current redistricting lawsuits.  And Hugh Roberts of Fair Districts PA - Delaware County told us about how people in Delaware County can help make a difference.  I fully support their vital efforts to end ALL gerrymandering in the Commonwealth and ask that you consider doing the same.

High cost of college demands alternatives

High cost of college demands alternatives

"As I continue to hold conversations with Pennsylvanians across the 7th district, I’m hearing many stories about students who are struggling to afford a college education and of unemployed workers looking to find meaningful careers. On top of this, I’m hearing from parents and grandparents who are worried about the crushing debt their children and grandchildren are suffering under."  Read my op-ed on education in the Delaware County Daily Times at http://www.delcotimes.com/article/DC/20171109/NEWS/171109599

Christmas Bazaar

Christmas Bazaar

Earlier today I stopped by Ridley Park Presbyterian Church’s annual Christmas Bazaar, purchased a great home-made Eagles ski cap, and had some great conversations.   My congratulations to Pastor Michael Smith, a helicopter pilot with the US Army’s Air Cavalry during the Vietnam War, on the occasion of his well-deserved retirement.  Thank you for the many years of service to our nation and community.
